At the end of March, the yachting jet set will head south for the acclaimed St. Barths Bucket Regatta. Forty 1° North’s Marina Manager, Mark Del Giudice is part of this group as a member of the 22 person team racing the 184–foot Perini Navi, Salute.
This invitation–only regatta consists of world–renowned sailing vessels ranging from 76 to 184 feet, bringing one of the largest yachting fleets together for a challenging race and an unbeatable after–party. This regatta’s famous, carefree atmosphere attracts true sailing fans eager to see what some of the top yachts can do.
Launched in 2008, Salute is an Italian–made cutter sloop that boasts the tallest aluminum mast in the world. Reaching 237 feet tall, Salute’s mast makes it impossible for the mega–yacht to pass beneath the Newport Bridge!
A Rhode Island native, Mark lived in St. Barths for 14 years, which makes him an instrumental team member on Salute based on his extensive knowledge of the local waters. Be sure to check our Facebook page at the end of March for Mark’s pictures and updates from the regatta.
Best of luck Mark! |
